The Flying Fairies have Flown

Our visit to the garden was a grey, murky, wet one. We decided to begin to clear out the polytunnel. It has gathered perhaps, too much junk.

I made a start on the left hand bed, full of weeds and tobacco plants. Steve made a start on weeding the broad beans.

We discarded two smaller scarecrows and six flying fairies. I am sorry to see them go but after 3 years they need to be replaced.

We have saved all the plastic bottle cloches because they proved very useful to protect young plants.

We spread manure on one side and then covered in carpet pieces. We broke up a trugful of wood and brought it home to burn on our wood burning fire.

There is still a lot to do but we felt we had made a good start. It looked a lot better.

Now that most of the festivities are over, I can post some of the crafts I tried for Christmas.

The gingham girls.
Felt reindeer
A patchwork dog.
Felt penguins
Three sloth babies
A trial run for a craft with my great-niece

A new tree star for my nephew.

And finally my new colourful socks from Steve which I totally love.
