Another lovely day.
Tim had moved a huge pile of chipped bark for us so we were soon stuck into it.
I did a lot of strimming, trying to skim the top off the longest areas as well. Its still not finished. As I worked leaves were swirling all around in a slight breeze.
Steve dismantled the bean row and all the bundles of canes were safely stored away in the cob shed for winter.
Then we both worked on our seating area next to the polytunnel.
I continued to weed. Steve got more barrow loads of chipped bark. The fire pit was moved and filled in a bit as its been sinking due to rabbit activity. We moved both seats to get rid of nettles and brambles.
I saved quite a few very healthy cerinthe plants which have seeded themselves.
All in all it looked pretty spruced up by the end of the morning.
Steve also put together my sister's fire pit at last. It will be another useful surface.
I filled up odd pots with tiny daffodil bulbs and protected them from the badgers with wire net tubes. They will soon be foraging around.
Inside the polytunnel we have decided we need to get rid of a lot of junk. It is accumulating.
On a happier note Tim and Anne acquired these comfy chairs which are a bit of an upgrade from the plastic ones.
They were outside a house in Pett on the main road.
Some of our cushion covers need replacing. They were made from an old tablecloth made with fabric from a French market. They have at last succumbed to the ultra-violet light.
Somewhere in this house, is another French tablecloth with a lavender design. I might use that for some new ones.
At home I have just started the mammoth task of lifting all my dahlias. I am being rather ruthless and throwing out weak ones.
In Freshwinds garden we will leave them in the ground covered in carpet.
A good morning's work.
