A Closer Look by Julia

This blog entry has a guest photographer
Julia Cruttenden
who just happens to be my sister-in-law.

At the beginning of June, we had a big family breakfast in the garden and Julia took the opportunity to wander round taking some incredible pictures of the flowers and plants.
Here are some of her lovely pictures.

I love the stark contrast against the faded background.
Always good to see the bumblebees.
See how the delphinium flowers mimic the bee. Clever.

I particularly love the houseleeks and sedum shots.

Julia is on a year long photography course which began in January. It can be clearly seen how well she is doing.

The course is called
"A year with my Camera."
It is run by Emma Davies.
There are e.mails every week with assignments and homework and the smaller local group has a facebook page where the members keep in contact and share their pictures.
(I hope Julia has shared some of these.)
Julia`s main aims have been ....
to gain confidence and not use Auto mode any more
studying composition and taking time to see the picture
meeting up with people on the days out and comparing pictures

And of course I thoroughly enjoy getting to see our garden through another person`s eyes.
I think it looks pretty good.
Great results Julia.

    1. Yes it is. Didn.t turn out quite as expected...I can see the glue! But covered in a layer of resin so should last. At the back of the herb garden.
