On August 3rd 2014, 40 years to the day, we woke to warm sunshine
and this was our view through the little house window.
We had a very early walk round the garden. It was peaceful and the sun was at a completely different angle.
It wasn`t long before I spotted movement at the Owl Yurt so we made our way down for breakfast.
As we passed the polytunnel we noticed something bright, something exciting.....
Our two incredible chairs....... painted by Anne. They became our "thrones" for the day.
The view across the Owl Yurt area was quite breath-taking in the early morning sunshine.
There was quite a bit of present-giving.
This was the intricate embroidery from Paula, my sister.
More decorating for the willow circle awaited us after breakfast on the decking.
After a visit home to change and collect yet more provisions, we made our way to the meeting area, on the decking of the little house.
My patchwork skirt was home-made ....some patches were the fabric used for my bridesmaids dresses and some were made from my going-away skirt. One was from my Mum`s floral blouse and several from my sister Lee`s skirt.... so it was quite special. My flower crown was made with hop flowers
and French marigolds.
We donned our flower crowns mostly made from helichrysum and statice.
My nephew Shane served drinks......elderflower cordial and apple juice with home-made biscuits.
Next we made our way to the garden to collect our harvest in the baskets.... flowers, vegetables, fruit.
The new dragon kite flew on.....
........and the sun continued to shine.
It looks as though you had a wonderful anniversary. So pleased that you have finally stayed in the Little House, isn't it just fantastic :)
