Everything`s Coming up Fairies

Well I always knew Freshwinds was full of fairies but there are more than usual around.
There are twig fairies...

......and tree fairies....

......fairy palaces ....

......and log rings to sit round.

Treasure chests have been created.

My nephew Toby found this lovely cedar wood box, abandoned and unloved.

The fairies adopted it as their treasure chest.

And here is a selection of fairy doors waiting to be placed in the trees.

They have been decorated with ivy branches, driftwood and my old earrings.
Steve has given them a couple of layers of outdoor varnish to protect them.

In the meantime, Freshwinds waits for its first visitors today and more over the weekend.

The beans have at last taken away....it has taken some time.

The straw flowers are on the move.

The sweetcorn tassels look like exotic fairy wigs.

The tiny yurt just fits into the garden between the flowerbeds.
It will become a fairy retreat at the w/e.

The cob shed sedum looks startling against the sky.

The cardoons are magnificent as always but not fully open yet. When they do the bees will go mad for the nectar.

Japanese anemones, angelica going to seed......

....the dahlia that should be pink....

......but who cares, it is fabulous.....

.....the first silken flowers of lavatera.

In the polytunnel the temperature was up to 45 degrees and I had to come out
four times for air whilst watering.
The tomatoes were suffering.

But the tagetes is stunning and loving the extra heat of the last few days.

The melons have gone totally bonkers.

Today is going to be very hot again.
It will be a day to garden early and welcome our first visitors to Freshwinds
and then I think it`s a late lunch at the beach and a swim in the sea.
Happy days.
