Butterfly Bonanza

Lots of pictures today....I almost don`t need to say anything.....except to share our delight in the weather, the company and the peacefulness of Freshwinds Garden.

We have begun to clear the polytunnel....

.....the tomatoes came out......lots of green chutney I think.......

......the three remaining scarecrows are inside for the winter, though they might be sweating a bit, due to the heat today......

.....plenty of cucumbers still to come.....

.......sweetcorn have gone and Borlotti beans up and already drying.

These little pumpkins are called "Hooligan." I love them.

There were dozens of butterflies out and about and the Michaelmus daisies were covered in honeybees.

After harvesting some of the pumpkins, we cleared the ground and weeded the path.

We cut back some celery type summer growth and decided the prunings
would make great homes in our insect hotel.

Paula cleared the fence behind the polytunnel of nettles and thistles.

The compost heaps are getting a bit full. A nice job for a cool day.

At home the garden room has been turned into a larder and drying area.

My greenhouse is clean and clear, ready for winter.
Just two greenhouses to go.
