Christmas Carols in the Barn

Last night it was Carols in the Barn for "Farm Africa."
It wasn`t as cold as usual but it was quite windy, with wisps of straw being blown around and in some cases, into the mulled wine!!
The barn was cordoned off with huge bales and the seating was smaller bales. There were quite a lot of people and Tim had to get more seating in. The white pony was down at the front and neighed quite raucously once or twice. It wasn`t til the tree began to wobble precariously that we realised he was nibbling the bottom of the Christmas tree!! He had tinsel woven into his mane.

The scarecrow had magically turned into Santa and he was swinging on a hammock seat.

The Village Choir sang for us, ably conducted by Pauline.

The carols were led by Wendy, a local teacher.....

.....and the pianist on his keyboard.

Everyone joined in, to the best of their ability.

Some great singing just to my left.

During the break we had mulled wine, mince pies and hot sausage rolls which were very welcome.

Some people looked very cosy amongst the hay.
Tim spoke about Farm Africa and asked for people to be generous with their donations.

At the end the vicar stood up to wind up the evening with prayers.

A lovely evening.
A lot of hard work and....
.....hopefully lots of money collected.
Many thanks to Tim and Anne for putting on this event every year.
We love it.
