Autumn Glory

After a week away it is always good to get back to the garden to see what`s happening.
We only had time for a short visit before we were off again for a reunion in Rottingdean.

There were a lot of tomatoes....
the best ones this year are Marmande, just lovely in salads.

The dahlias are going out in a blaze of glory. Actually it has been so mild
that I think they may go on for some time yet.

The "Lemon Queen" helianthus is glorious, especially with the distressed barn colour behind.

I shall definitely be splitting this Michaelmus daisy as it is thick and abundant.

One courgette that got away!!

There were lots of Cabbage White butterflies around.
This one is feeding on late verbena.

There is still a lot of autumn colour to enjoy in the perenniel beds.

But plenty of weeds to get rid of.

The fungi have just started to show.

The bee borage has seeded itself. I need to get busy transplanting some.
And the frogs seem to be changing colour....not quite such a bright green.

Late honeysuckle.

We harvested most of the pumpkins.....

.....picked a lot of flowers.....

...and the statice is still going strong.

All in all a lovely visit. I do love this time of year.
But there is lots to do.
