We are away in Leicester for the Easter weekend starting out early tomorrow.
Today was our last visit for the next few days.
It was sunny but not exactly warm.
I spent my time moving sedum plants from the area which will be under the polytunnel.
Paula watered it all in. The hose is now on.
We sat round the pond for tea and scones....all very English.
I particularly noticed how well the pondplants are establishing themselves,
spreading across the surface and growing into the grass, providing good cover for all the creatures.
A mesh of watermint and mimulus.
Lush mimulus.
Watermint.
Parrotweed....you have to keep this in check as it can be invasive.
Notice the petals which were drifting across like snowflakes.
The iris spiking up to the skies.
Steve has zigzagged the cobshed roof ready for the next stage.
Anne told us that the pond liner has arrived, so that will be the next job.
I can`t begin to imagine how it will actually happen.
The bee borage stems, buds and foliage look as if they are rimmed with frost.
At home Steve has been working on his trug design.
I think it`s lovely.
We also met Gemma and her partner, James who have come camping.
Gemma comments on this blog and has her own.....

Looking forward to seeing you again. Sweetpeas are in now and cornflowers.
ReplyDeleteI have also roofed the insect hotel with sedum.
